A warm welcome to EXO² flexible, robust and safe heat generating technologies
Welcome to 'FabRoc®'. This polymer based material is
lightweight, waterproof, windproof, crushproof and
stretchable. It is intrinsically safe through being chemically inert and is fully CE
compliant. It serves also as an excellent format for latent heat transfer in
Polymers.
FabRoc®, is in the forefront of the new generation of 'smart' clothing and
textiles, which will enable users to harness the power of the sun, combined with Li-Ion
(Lithium-Ion) battery technology (as used so effectively in mobile
phones), to operate a phalanx of electronic and information
systems; from vital sign sensors, through MP3 and mobile phone
operation, to heat which is available literally at the press of a fabric switch on the arm or at the collar of your Jacket or
Fleece.
Successful examples of where the technology has been applied to products available today
include: Berghaus Heatcell Gilet & Typhoon Icebreaker Vest for wearing under Dry
Suits. Despite these products operating in radically different environments
(outdoor and undersea), FabRoc® has proved sufficiently flexible and adaptable to answer the toughest challenges raised by these renowned
manufacturers.
The potential 'menu' of applications is only limited by
imagination, examples already in process include:
 | Heated Clothing - increasing comfort levels for those that enjoy outdoor leisure activities such as
walking, shooting and riding; |
 | Industrial battery heaters - used to lengthen the life od a battery when used in sub zero
temperatures; |
 | Independent Living - used to keep residents warm during periods of
inactivity, which can result in reduced heating bills; |
 | Heated Gloves - used to increase comfort. Ideal for everyday use as well as for those working in cold stores and also to increase the amount of time spent working in such environments, thereby increasing
productivity; |
 | Motorcycle and snowmobile clothing - powered directly by the motorcycle and used to keep users warm whilst
riding; |
 | Military applications -
Army, Navy and Air Force; |
 | Heated equine products - saddle and leg warmers; |
 | Ski boot liners - used to heat and mould the inner footbed to give a customised fit, thereby increasing comfort and
control; |
 | Patient heating - maintaining
'core' temperature whilst undergoing major surgery can help improve recovery
times. |
